Over the past 9 months Prostate Cancer UK has been exploring the experiences of Black men who are navigating prostate cancer. It has been an important journey of discovery anchored in the principle of getting it right for Black men.

With the support of our Black Men's Health Advisory Group, we’ve had honest conversations, conducted robust examination of the data, and used this to develop incredibly ambitious, but necessary priorities for the next 5 years.

Prostate UK are pleased to share our exciting, new Black Health Equity Strategy 2025-2030.

This strategy is best described as a story of 3’s:

Our 3 Missions

• Mission 1 - Black men diagnosed early
• Mission 2 - Eradicate treatment disparity
• Mission 3 - Support is personalised, culturally informed, and improves quality of life

3. Building sustainable structures within Prostate Cancer UK and the Black Health Equity Network

Our 3 Outcomes

By 2030...

1. More Black men who have prostate cancer are being diagnosed at a curable stage
2. More Black men report feeling supported in making an informed decision about their treatment choice, thereby reducing the occurrence of treatment regret
3. More Black men are using available prostate cancer support services because they feel that they are culturally sensitive, personalised and improves their quality of life.

Our 3 Beliefs

1. This strategy builds on the success of our Black health equity work and anchors our principles of reducing systemic barriers; building trust; and becoming legitimate advocates.
2. This strategy demonstrates that we are leading the way in the sector.
3. As we develop, deliver and learn we will apply those successful tactics and approaches to tackle the inequalities other groups of men experience – because if we get it right for Black men, we will get it right for all men.
