Patient Engagement & Involvement

Are you a patient, carer, members of the public, support group and/or voluntary organisation with a recent experience of cancer care? 

The West Midlands Cancer Alliance (WMCA) has a number of ways that you can get involved and represent the patient voice to help us deliver excellent cancer services.

If you have had cancer and have been provided with treatment and care in the West Midlands, or are a carer or someone who has been affected by cancer and wants to help improve the delivery of cancer services across this region, there are a number of ways you can get involved:

  • The Alliance Board has a patient representative who acts as a conduit for the patient advocates who work with the Alliance. Become a patient advocate on one of our Expert Advisory Groups (EAGs).
  • Join our wider virtual group of engaged patients and receive regular updates on the Alliance's activities and provide input to the Alliance without attending meetings
  • Join our Readers’ Panel by completing the form Become a patient advocate and indicating your choice
  • Get involved in your local area with a patient group or charity or join your patient group associated with your Trust or your Integrated Care Board (ICB).
  • Be Part of Research is a free service which makes it easy to find and take part in vital health and care research across the UK.
