A Prostate Cancer Resource Pack has been developed by the West Midlands Cancer Alliance in collaboration with Prostate Cancer UK, key stakeholders, healthcare professionals, and local community groups. It is designed to provide clear, accessible, and practical information to support awareness, early detection, and improved outcomes for men across the region and is for all healthcare professionals and communities

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, and early diagnosis is critical to improving survival. However, we know that awareness and access to information are not always equal. Across the West Midlands, there are significant health inequalities for early diagnosis of prostate cancer—particularly among Black men, who face a disproportionately higher risk, and other underserved communities where awareness and uptake of services remain low.

This resource pack aims to address these challenges head-on by bringing together best practices, trusted educational materials, and community-driven insights to support men, families, and professionals in understanding prostate cancer and taking action. Whether you are a healthcare provider, community leader, or someone personally affected, this pack is here to help you start vital conversations, access support, and navigate available services.

Together, we are working to increase awareness, improve uptake of prostate cancer screening and treatment pathways, and reduce health disparities across the region. By combining clinical expertise, lived experience, and community engagement, we are building a more informed and supported West Midlands.
